文化的 インスピレーション

こんにちは、みんな! お帰りなさい. One of my favorite Japanese cultural figures is the avant-garde designer Yohji Yamamoto (山本 耀司).  He began making clothing in the 1970s, and he showed his first collection at Paris Fashion Week in 1981. His work was immediately recognized as something to be watched and studied. He works mostly with black fabrics and uses flowing silhouettes that give a dark but ethereal impression that is unmistakable. His work has been incredibly influential, and he continues to create renowned collections at the age of 78. He is one of the living legends of the fashion world is respected as one of the highest masters of tailoring. He is also regarded as one of progenitors of the anti-fashion moment. Here are some examples of his work.

First blog post

My name is Andy Donovan, and I am a student in Elementary Japanese 1. I chose to take this class because I have a long time interest in Japanese culture (and food). I would like to travel there at some point in my life, and when I do, I want to be able to fully immerse my self. Learning Japanese will enable me to do that. I am excited to be able to understand things in Japanese media and eventually be able to converse with Japanese speakers.
